Dor Chadash's Discussion Club: Seeding Innovation
Dor Chadash had the pleasure of hosting special guests Chemi Peres and Dan Senor as part of its Discussion Club series. The event was attended by more than 200 people and focused on the culture of innovation in Israel and what others can learn from that example.
Chemi Peres, Managing General Partner and Founder of Pitango Venture Capital made some news at the event in announcing a fund dedicated to minority investment and stressed the importance of including minority populations in Israel's success story. Dan Senor, the author of the recently published, "Start-Up Nation," emphasized the singularity of Israel's military composition and training regimen as the keys to turning out such a high number of entrepreneurs with the skills and leadership needed for business achievement. The evening was moderated by Roben Farzad, senior writer for BusinessWeek who questioned the panelists about a third way for Israel, one where it might lead by business example and come to be known more for these accomplishments, than the ever-present conflict.
